My Story

Starting with a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics and data science at Newcastle and James Cook Universities, I ventured into the world of data science, continually drawn to the intricacies of data and its vast potential. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working alongside brilliant minds in the healthcare, insurance, web development, educational and engineering sectors, where I've applied my skills to tackle complex challenges through innovative data solutions.

My approach has always been hands-on, whether I'm leading a team to develop a new machine-learning platform or diving deep into data analysis to extract meaningful insights. Some of my most cherished professional experiences have been mentoring junior data profesionals and guiding them through AI development's technical and ethical aspects. These interactions enhanced our projects and reinforced my commitment to nurturing the next generation of data scientists.

On a personal note, my connection to my hometown of Newcastle has kept me grounded and actively involved in the community, from participating in local sports clubs to enjoying outdoor adventures. Ernie, my pet dingo, has been a constant companion through remote working periods, often appearing in Zoom meetings and inadvertently becoming a mascot of sorts, symbolising the loyalty and innovative spirit I strive to bring to every project.
